Rep. Poppy Arford is serving her second term in the Maine House of Representatives.

Rep. Arford grew up in Auburn, Maine, and holds a degree in social work from the University of Southern Maine. She is also a graduate of the Maine-based Hanley Health Leadership Development program.

Passionate about the Maine outdoors, Rep. Arford has previously served as an Outward Bound instructor leading wilderness expeditions. Arford has worked as a Registered Substance Abuse Counselor and as the director of ShareCenter, a program that provides recycled resource materials to educators. Rep. Arford has served as a patient advocate and health care consumer representative on statewide health care quality improvement and cost-transparency efforts, including six years on the board of directors for Maine Health Data Organization. Her primary focus is affordable coverage and care for all Maine people.

Rep. Arford cares deeply about her community and the wellbeing of the people who live and work in Maine. She has served two terms on the Brunswick Town Council and was appointed in 2022 to the Brunswick Recycling and Sustainability Committee, where she also serves on the Energy Subcommittee. She looks forward to contributing to the Brunswick community by supporting local organizations and events.

Rep. Arford is a champion for affordable, safe and decent housing for Mainers locally and statewide. She is keenly aware of the need for emergency housing and is committed to finding legislative and community-based solutions to ensure a home for all.

Rep. Arford has proudly called Brunswick her home for over 35 years with her husband, Loren. They have two adult children and a wonderful rescue pup named Happy.
