Resolve, Directing the Department of Transportation To Place a Sign on Northbound Interstate 95 Directing Motorists to Lee Academy

Preamble. Whereas,  Lee Academy is a college preparatory boarding and day school located in the Town of Lee; and

Whereas,  the student body of Lee Academy currently represents many Maine communities, all of Maine's counties and numerous states; and

Whereas,  Lee Academy is located approximately 17 miles from the Lincoln exit on Interstate 95, and increased visibility on the Interstate 95 corridor is critical to the ability of the public, as well as those members of the student body who are unfamiliar with the State, to locate Lee Academy; now, therefore, be it

Sec. 1. Sign placed for Lee Academy. Resolved: That the Department of Transportation, notwithstanding national guidelines relating to directional signs for highways, shall place a directional sign on Interstate 95 at the northbound exit of the highway that is located closest to Lee Academy and that Lee Academy shall assume all costs associated with the directional sign.
