An Act To Amend the Laws Related to Rate and Form Filings
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 24-A MRSA §2304-A, sub-§7, as amended by PL 2005, c. 121, Pt. C, §1, is further amended to read:
7. Except as provided in section 2304-C, a rate filing and its supporting data are confidential until the filing is approved. Information in a rate filing and its supporting data that constitute a trade secret as defined in Title 10, chapter 302 remain confidential after filing.

This bill provides that an insurer is entitled to trade secret protection under the Uniform Trade Secrets Act for a rate filing and its supporting data that are a trade secret.
