Resolve, To Require a Study of the Availability of Food Packaging without Bisphenol A

Sec. 1. Food packaging study. Resolved: That the Department of Environmental Protection shall conduct a review of packaging for food intended for humans to determine the availability of practical and economically feasible packaging alternatives that do not contain bisphenol A. The department shall submit its findings, along with any recommended legislation, to the Joint Standing Committee on Environment and Natural Resources by January 3, 2014. The joint standing committee may report out legislation to the Second Regular Session of the 126th Legislature in accordance with the recommendations of the department.
