Amend the bill by inserting after section 3 the following:

‘Sec. 4. 24-A MRSA §3308-A, sub-§1, as enacted by PL 2009, c. 56, §18, is amended to read:

1. Duty to file. If a document delivered to the office of the Secretary of State for filing pursuant to this chapter satisfies the requirements of Title 13-C and this chapter, the Secretary of State shall file the document.’

Amend the bill by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

This amendment clarifies that Maine insurance corporations are subject to the requirements of the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 13-C, the Maine Business Corporation Act.
