An Act To Expand the Types of Vehicles on Which a Sportsman Registration Plate May Be Displayed
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §456-C, sub-§7 is enacted to read:
7. Special motorcycle or trailer plates. Notwithstanding section 468, subsection 10, the Secretary of State, on application and upon evidence of payment of the excise tax required by Title 36, section 1482, shall issue a registration certificate and special sportsman registration plate for a motorcycle or a trailer to be used in lieu of a regular registration plate.
Sec. 2. 29-A MRSA §515-A, 2nd ¶, as amended by PL 2001, c. 361, §9, is further amended to read:
Motorcycle plates issued under sections 456-C, 457, 515-B, 517 and 523 are exempt from this section.
