Amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting the following:
‘An Act To Provide a Procedure for Victims of Unsolved Crimes To Request and Receive Annual Updates’
Amend the bill by striking out everything after the enacting clause and before the summary and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 1. 17-A MRSA §1178 is enacted to read:
§ 1178. Annual updates
The Department of Public Safety shall adopt a policy that provides a procedure for a victim of an unsolved crime to request and receive annual updates from the department regarding the status of the investigation of the crime.’
