Representative Stephen W. Moriarty

Rep. Steve Moriarty is serving his fourth non-consecutive term in the Maine House of Representatives. He sits on the Judiciary Committee.

Prior to holding his current position, Rep. Moriarty served on the Cumberland Town Council for 21 years, where he was elected council chair seven times. He also served on the Cumberland Planning Board from January 2015 to December 2020 and was elected chair three times.

Rep. Moriarty was raised in Hallowell and Auburn and attended Bowdoin College before joining the Army after graduation. Following the completion of his military service, he returned to Maine to attend the University of Maine School of Law, receiving his degree in 1978.

Rep. Moriarty and his wife, Pam, have lived in Cumberland since 1983 and have two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
