Rep. Lois Galgay Reckitt is serving her fourth term in the Maine House of Representatives, where she sits on the Judiciary Committee. A member of the Maine Women’s Hall of Fame, she is a longtime advocate for Maine women and families.

Rep. Reckitt spent 36 years as executive director of Family Crisis Services in Cumberland County. Under her leadership, the organization became a leader in domestic violence services and prevention. She has received numerous awards from various state and community organizations, including recognition for her work within the criminal justice system from the Maine Judicial Branch, Maine State Bar Association and Maine Chiefs of Police.

In the 1980s, Rep. Reckitt was elected national executive vice president of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and was a co-founder of the Human Rights Campaign Fund.

Rep. Reckitt holds degrees from Brandeis University and Boston University. She lives in South Portland.
