Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

 
Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §1304, sub-§1, ķI is enacted to read:

 
I.__Upon issuance of the permit, the Secretary of State
shall issue a placard to the permittee identifying the
permittee as a permit holder.__The permittee shall display
this placard in the motor vehicle at all times of operation
with the placard clearly visible to other drivers.__The
permittee shall bear the cost of the placard.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill requires the Secretary of State to issue placards to
driver's license permit holders to display in motor vehicles
identifying the permittees as permit holders to other drivers.
The Secretary of State issues the placards at the same time the
Secretary of State issues permits. The permitees bear the cost
of the placards.
