Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 39-A MRSA §312, sub-§1-A
is enacted to read:
1-A.__Examination not required.
__An independent medical
examination is not required if a medical specialist's report is
made available to the parties within a reasonable period of time
from the time an independent medical examination is requested or
ordered.
SUMMARY
This bill provides that an independent medical examination is
not required under the workers' compensation laws if a medical
specialist's report is made available to the parties within a
reasonable period of time from the time an independent medical
examination is requested or ordered.
