Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §4005-D is enacted to read:

§4005-D.__Right to information

A person accused of abuse, neglect or other wrongdoing with respect to a child in a child protection proceeding is entitled to disclosure by the department and any investigating agency of all records and reports that the person would be entitled to under law or court rules if the person were an accused in a criminal trial.__Such information must also be made part of the record of the proceeding.

SUMMARY

This bill provides that a person accused of wrongdoing in a child protection proceeding is entitled to disclosure of records and reports relating to the proceeding and the investigation from the Department of Human Services and any investigating agency.
