Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §4357-A, sub-§3 is enacted to read:

3.__Siting requirement.__Prior to issuance of a permit to build or occupy a community living arrangement in a municipality, the community living arrangement must show:

A.__Evidence that written notice has been provided to the municipal officers;

B.__That the community living arrangement has presented information on its impact on the municipality at a public hearing within 90 days of the notice provided in paragraph A; and

C.__That the community living arrangement has been approved by vote of the municipal officers at a public meeting.

SUMMARY

This bill requires community living arrangements to provide written notice to municipal officers prior to obtaining a permit to build or occupy a community living arrangement, to provide information at a public meeting and to obtain the approval of the municipal officers.
