Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

 
Sec. 1. Appropriation. The following funds are appropriated from the
General Fund to carry out the purposes of this Act.

LEGISLATURE

 
Education Research Institute

 
All Other$150,000$150,000

 
Provides funds to maintain the
kindergarten to grade 12
education database in the
amount of $75,000 each year and
funds to support targeted
research projects in the amount
of $75,000 each year. The
Legislature, through the Joint
Standing Committee on Education
and Cultural Affairs, shall
contract with the University of
Maine System to continue these
activities.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill provides General Fund appropriations to the
Legislature for the Education Research Institute in the amount of
$150,000 in each fiscal year of the biennium to maintain the
kindergarten to grade 12 education database and support targeted
research projects.
