| | | Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §1482, sub-§1, śC-1 is enacted to read: |

| | | C-1.__Notwithstanding paragraph C, a different rate of | | excise tax on motor vehicles or camper trailers may be | | adopted by the legislative body of a municipality.__That | | rate__may not exceed the rate established in paragraph C. |

| | | This bill allows municipalities to establish excise tax rates | | for all motor vehicles as long as those rates do not exceed the | | current rate. |
