Sec. 1. 37-B MRSA §744, sub-§1-A is enacted to read:

1-A.__Preference to individuals whose primary source of income is from agricultural use of land.__In granting financial assistance pursuant to subsection 1, the Governor shall give preference to an individual whose primary source of income is from agricultural use of land over an individual whose primary source of income is not from agricultural use of land.__ "Agricultural use" means the production of agriculturally related products, including, but not limited to, crops, livestock, poultry, dairy products and sod.

SUMMARY

This bill requires that an individual whose primary source of income is the agricultural use of land receive preference in receiving disaster relief financial assistance.
