Sec. 1. 10 MRSA §929-B, sub-§1, ¶¶B and C, as enacted by PL 1993, c. 410, Pt. MMM, §1, are amended to read:

B. Monitor progress in accomplishing the plan's vision, goals and benchmarks and correct and improve strategies to better achieve its goals; and

C. Recommend changes in the plan to reflect the dynamics of the international, national and state economy. economies; and

Sec. 2. 10 MRSA §929-B, sub-§1, ¶D is enacted to read:

D.__Cooperate with the Department of Economic and Community Development in developing and implementing the plan.

Sec. 3. 10 MRSA §929-B, sub-§3, ¶C, as enacted by PL 1993, c. 410, Pt. MMM, §1, is amended to read:

C. Alternative strategies to accomplish the benchmarks based upon the best practices in Maine, other states and other countries, including cooperation with the Department of Economic and Community Development to develop and implement the plan;

SUMMARY

This bill requires the Maine Economic Growth Council to cooperate with the Department of Economic and Community Development in developing a plan for a sustainable state economy.
