that support an efficient and effective system of programs and
services that support coordinated school health programs and any
necessary implementing legislation to the Joint Standing Committee
on Education and Cultural Affairs and the Joint Standing Committee
on Health and Human Services; and be it further

 
Sec. 2. Progress report meetings; Resolved: That the departments shall
meet at a time that is the half-way point in the needs assessment
process with a 3-member subcommittee of the Joint Standing
Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs and the Joint
Standing Committee on Health and Human Services one member each
representing Education, Health and Human Services to report on
the progress of the departments in conducting the needs
assessment. The subcommittee shall meet only once; and be it
further

 
Sec. 3. Reimbursement. Resolved: That the legislative subcommittee is
entitled to receive, upon application to the Executive Director
of the Legislative Council, the legislative per diem, as defined
in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 3, section 2 and
reimbursement for travel and other necessary expenses for
attendance at the progress report meetings.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve requires that the Department of Education and the
Department of Human Services conduct a comprehensive needs
assessment of state agency programs and services that are in
support of coordinated school health programs.
