| This bill directs the Department of Human Services to develop |
| a statewide smoking cessation program and provides minimum |
| requirements for the program. It requires a report by January 1, |
| 2000, to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having |
| jurisdiction over health and human services matters on progress |
| in establishing a statewide smoking cessation program, including |
| in the report any legislation required to establish the program. |
| It requires smoking cessation programs to receive funding under |
| the tobacco prevention and control program. |
