SUMMARY

This bill establishes a commercial shrimp permit for the
commercial shrimp fishery. It also establishes the Shrimp
Management Fund into which proceeds from the sale of a commercial
shrimp permit and any other revenue intended to be used in
support of issues related to management of the shrimp fishery
must be deposited. The bill provides that if reporting in the
fishery is required, failure to provide reports is cause for
nonrenewal of a harvesting permit or wholesale seafood license.
