| | | Sec. 1. 28-A MRSA §703, as amended by PL 1997, c. 373, §65, is | | repealed and the following enacted in its place: |

| | | §703.__Employment of violators prohibited |
|
| | | A licensee may not employ as a manager or leave in charge of | | the licensed premises any person who has been convicted within | | the last 5 years of a Class A, Class B or Class C crime or the | | violation of any liquor laws or whose license for the sale of | | liquor has been revoked within the last 5 years. |
|
| | | Current law prohibits a person licensed to sell liquor from | | employing as a manager or leaving the licensed premises in charge | | of a person who has been convicted of a violation of any liquor | | laws or whose license to sell liquor has been revoked within the | | previous 5 years. |
|
| | | This bill prohibits the employment as a manager or person in | | charge any person who, within the last 5 years, has been | | convicted of a Class A, Class B or Class C crime or the violation | | of any liquor laws or whose license to sell liquor has been | | revoked within the last 5 years. |
|
