Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §7457, sub-§4 is enacted to read:

4.__Taking additional deer.__The commissioner may permit a person to hunt for and take a 2nd deer with a firearm during the open season established in subsection 1 after that person has taken a deer and paid an additional $50 fee.__The commissioner shall specify the sex of this 2nd deer and the zone from which it may be taken.

SUMMARY

This bill allows the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to permit a person to hunt for and take a 2nd deer with a firearm during the open season on deer after that person has taken a deer and paid an additional $50 fee. The commissioner shall specify the sex of this 2nd deer and the zone from which it may be taken.
