| | | Provides funds to allow the | | Committee on Transition to | | assist Maine Public Schools to | | reach compliance with state and | | federal transition laws and | | regulations as they relate to | | learning results and | | postsecondary outcomes for | | youth with disabilities. |

| | | This bill provides a General Fund appropriation to the | | Department of Education for the Committee on Transition, the | | department's training and technical assistance arm on mandated | | transition issues. The funds will be used to ensure that all | | youth, parents, school districts and agencies dealing with | | transition in Maine have access to the Committee on Transition's | | services including information dissemination, training, capacity | | building for systems change, youth leadership and advocacy. |
