Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §288, sub-§1, as enacted by PL 1999, c. 146, §5, is amended to read:

1. Board composition. The Board of Licensing of Auctioneers, as established by Title 5, section 12004-A, subsection 5, is composed of 5 members, 3 of whom must be auctioneers and 2 of whom must be public members. One of the members who is an auctioneer must be selected from a list submitted to the Governor by a statewide organization of auctioneers.

Sec. 2. First member selected from list. The first member of the Board of Licensing of Auctioneers selected from a list submitted to the Governor by a statewide organization of auctioneers pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 32, section 288, subsection 1 must be appointed when the first vacancy after the effective date of this Act occurs in a seat on the board held by an auctioneer.

SUMMARY

This bill provides that one member of the Board of Licensing of Auctioneers must be an auctioneer who is selected from a list submitted to the Governor by a statewide organization of auctioneers.
