SUMMARY

This resolve is a concept draft pursuant to Joint Rule 208. It proposes to establish a study commission to examine various issues associated with being a father in Maine. The issues to be studied include the following:

1. The rights of divorced fathers;

2. The availability of services in the State to enhance fathering;

3. The special needs of single parents who are fathers; and

4. The availability of assistance for fathers insufficiently trained to support their children.
