Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §1410, sub-§7 is enacted to read:

7.__Maine Indian tribe identification cards.__An official identification card issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe in the State is deemed an identification card issued under this section.__Cards issued under this subsection may be issued only to members of the tribe and must be stamped and issued by the clerk of the tribe.

SUMMARY

This bill requires an official identification card issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe in the State to be considered an official state nondriver identification card.
