Sec. 1. 24 MRSA §2332-M is enacted to read:

§2332-M.__Coverage for hospital-based dental treatment for minors

All individual and group nonprofit hospital and medical services plan policies and contracts and all nonprofit health care plan policies and contracts must provide coverage for dental treatment performed:

1.__Minor.__On a patient who is a minor;

2.__General anesthesia.__Using general anesthesia; and

3.__Hospital setting.__In a hospital.

Sec. 2. 24-A MRSA §2759 is enacted to read:

§2759.__Coverage for hospital-based dental treatment for minors

All individual health policies and contracts, except accidental injury, specified disease, hospital indemnity, Medicare supplement, long-term care and other limited benefit health insurance policies and contracts, must provide coverage for dental treatment performed:

1.__Minor.__On a patient who is a minor;

2.__General anesthesia.__Using general anesthesia; and

3.__Hospital setting.__In a hospital.

Sec. 3. 24-A MRSA §2847-J is enacted to read:

§2847-J.__Coverage for hospital-based dental treatment for minors

All group insurance policies and contracts, except accidental injury, specified disease, hospital indemnity, Medicare supplement, long-term care and other limited benefit health insurance policies and contracts, must provide coverage for dental treatment performed:

1.__Minor.__On a patient who is a minor;

2.__General anesthesia.__Using general anesthesia; and

3.__Hospital setting.__In a hospital.
