Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §6431-B, as enacted by PL 1995, c. 468, §5, is amended by adding at the end a new paragraph to read:

By January 1, 2002, the commissioner shall adopt rules that require tags for traps that are fished in a lobster management zone, in which a license holder fishes a majority of that license holder's traps, that are a different color than tags for traps fished outside of that zone.__These rules are routine technical rules pursuant to Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter II-A.

SUMMARY

This bill requires the Commissioner of Marine Resources to adopt rules by January 1, 2002 that require tags for lobster traps that are fished in a lobster management zone, in which a license holder fishes a majority of that license holder's traps, that are a different color than tags for traps fished outside of that zone.
