| | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows: |

| | | Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §13724 is enacted to read: |

| | | The board shall use information from quarterly reports | | required in section 13796 to maintain a database containing all | | transactions in the State involving schedule II drugs.__For | | purposes of this section, "schedule II drug" has the same meaning | | as in the federal Controlled Substances Act of 1970, 21 United | | States Code, Section 812. |

| | | Sec. 2. 32 MRSA §13796 is enacted to read: |

| | | §13796.__Quarterly reports |
|
| | | A facility registered under section 13751 shall provide to the | | board on a quarterly basis a record of all transactions the | | facility conducted in dispensing schedule II drugs, including the | | name of the customer, type of drug and amount of drug for each | | transaction.__For purposes of this section, "schedule II drug" | | has the same meaning as in the federal Controlled Substances Act | | of 1970, 21 United States Code, Section 812. |

| | | This bill requires pharmacies to provide the Maine Board of | | Pharmacy with quarterly reports recording all schedule II drug | | transactions so that the board can maintain a centralized | | database. |
