| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows: |

| | Sec. 1. Appropriation. The following funds are appropriated from | the General Fund to carry out the purposes of this Act. |

| Provides funds to increase | statewide education, training | and employment and self- | employment services for | displaced homemakers that lead | to economic self-sufficiency | and continue to build program | capacity to coordinate and | deliver these services and to | measure outcomes. |

| | This bill increases funding statewide to sustain and expand | education, training and employment and self-employment services, | placement and transitional support services for displaced | homemakers that lead to economic self-sufficiency. This funding | covers increased costs for existing centers and the creation of | new service delivery sites in unserved areas of the State: | Washington, Piscataquis, Waldo, Oxford and rural Cumberland and | York counties. |
