Sec. 1. Appropriation. The following funds are appropriated from the General Fund to carry out the purposes of this Act.

Provides funds to increase statewide education, training and employment and self- employment services for displaced homemakers that lead to economic self-sufficiency and continue to build program capacity to coordinate and deliver these services and to measure outcomes.

SUMMARY

This bill increases funding statewide to sustain and expand education, training and employment and self-employment services, placement and transitional support services for displaced homemakers that lead to economic self-sufficiency. This funding covers increased costs for existing centers and the creation of new service delivery sites in unserved areas of the State: Washington, Piscataquis, Waldo, Oxford and rural Cumberland and York counties.
