Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §5953-D, sub-§4, ķA, as enacted by PL 1993, c. 721, Pt. D, §3 and affected by Pt. H, §1, is amended to read:

A. Give priority to those municipalities that are experiencing rapid growth and possess a public service infrastructure inadequate to accommodate that growth, or are service centers, as defined in section 4349-A, subsection 2, with populations under 20,000;

Sec. 2. Allocation. The following funds are allocated from the Community Development Revolving Loan Fund to carry out the purposes of this Act.

SUMMARY

This bill requires that, in awarding public infrastructure loans and grants, the Department of Economic and Community Development give priority to service center municipalities with populations under 20,000. The bill also allocates funds from the Municipal Investment Trust Fund to build parking garages in service center municipalities with populations under 20,000.
