| | | Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §13451, sub-§3, as amended by PL 1997, c. 643, Pt. | | OO, §1 and affected by §3, is further amended to read: |

| | | 3. Payment by State. The State shall pay 30% of the retired | | teacher members' share of this insurance. Beginning January 1, | | 2002, the State shall pay 35% of the retired teacher members' | | share of this insurance.__Beginning January 1, 2003, the State | | shall pay 40% of the retired teacher members' share of this | | insurance. |

| | | This bill increases the State's contribution for health | | insurance for retired educators from 30% to 35% beginning January | | 1, 2002 and from 35% to 40% beginning January 1, 2003. |
