Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §517-A is enacted to read:

§517-A.__Registration exemption for vehicles owned by

veterans groups and used exclusively for

ceremonial activities

Vehicles owned by organized veterans groups and used exclusively for ceremonial activities such as parades are exempt from registration requirements and registration fees.__For purposes of this section, "organized veterans groups" means the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and an organized league of veterans of the United States Marine Corps.

SUMMARY

This bill provides that vehicles owned by organized veterans groups and used exclusively for ceremonial activities are exempt from registration requirements and fees.
