Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §7457, sub-§4 is enacted to read:

4.__Any-deer authorization.__Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection 1, paragraph H, the commissioner may authorize the taking of antlered and antlerless deer without a permit required by subsection 1, paragraph H during the regular hunting season or the special muzzle-loading hunting season under section 7107-A for an area open to hunting in the State.__The commissioner shall demarcate the area pursuant to subsection 1, paragraph I, subparagraph (1).

SUMMARY

This bill allows the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to authorize the taking of deer of either sex without an antlerless deer permit during the regular hunting season or special muzzle-loading hunting season for an area open to hunting demarcated by the commissioner.
