Sec. 1. Appropriation. The following funds are appropriated from the General Fund to carry out the purposes of this Act.

Provides for the one-time appropriation of funds for the Commissioner of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management to arrange with the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service through the Superintendent of Gettysburg National Military Park for the maintenance of Maine's monuments at Gettysburg National Military Park. Funds appropriated for this purpose may not lapse until 12 months after the effective date of this Act.

SUMMARY

This bill funds the Maine Civil War Monuments Maintenance Program within the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management with a one-time appropriation of $85,000 in fiscal year 2001-02 for the Commissioner of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management to arrange with the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service through the Superintendent of Gettysburg National Military Park for the maintenance of Maine's monuments at Gettysburg National Military Park.
