Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 35-A MRSA §8903
is enacted to read:
§8903.__Cellular telecommunications service provider;
dialing parity
A provider of cellular or wireless telecommunications service
shall provide the service in a manner that allows a caller making
an intrastate call to complete the call by dialing the same
number of digits as the caller would dial if the caller were
using telephone utility landline service.
SUMMARY
This bill requires a provider of cellular or wireless
telecommunications service in this State to configure its system
so that a caller making an intrastate call may complete the call
by dialing the same number of digits as the caller would dial if
the caller were using telephone utility landline service.
