| 3.__If a person commits an assault against a sports official |
| that occurs within the confines of or immediate vicinity of an |
| athletic facility at which the sports official is acting or was |
| acting in the capacity of a sports official, the court shall |
| require the person to perform 100 hours of community service |
| pursuant to section 1345, in addition to any other penalty |
| imposed by the court.__For the purposes of this subsection, |
| "sports official" means a person who participates in a sport in |
| the position of umpire, coach, referee, judge, timekeeper or |
| other position, including an assistant to any such person.__ |
| "Sports official" does not include a person participating in the |
| sport as a team member or contestant. |
