| Prior to a practitioner prescribing a psychotropic drug to a |
person under 18 years of age, the practitioner must have the |
person's parent or guardian read the full information on the |
psychotropic drug in a nationally recognized physician's desk |
reference family guide to prescription drugs and obtain written |
attestation from the parent or guardian that the information, |
including the drug's side effects, is understood.__If the parent |
or legal guardian does not understand the written psychotropic |
drug information, the practitioner shall fully explain the |
information, including the drug's side effects, to the parent or |
guardian before obtaining the written attestation.__The |
attestation must be kept on file as part of the person's medical |
record. |
