| Prior to a practitioner prescribing a psychotropic drug to a |
| person under 18 years of age, the practitioner must have the |
| person's parent or guardian read the full information on the |
| psychotropic drug in a nationally recognized physician's desk |
| reference family guide to prescription drugs and obtain written |
| attestation from the parent or guardian that the information, |
| including the drug's side effects, is understood.__If the parent |
| or legal guardian does not understand the written psychotropic |
| drug information, the practitioner shall fully explain the |
| information, including the drug's side effects, to the parent or |
| guardian before obtaining the written attestation.__The |
| attestation must be kept on file as part of the person's medical |
| record. |
