Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

 
Sec. 1. 15 MRSA §812, sub-§3 is enacted to read:

 
3.__Prohibited cases.__A court may not accept a negotiated
plea for a charge of murder or a Class A, B or C offense under
Title 17-A, chapter 11 in which the victim is under 18 years of
age.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill prohibits plea bargaining in cases involving murder
or a Class A, B or C sex offense in which the victim is under 18
years of age.
