Sec. 1. Trawl limits in Saco Bay. Resolved: That the Department of Marine
Resources shall adopt rules designating the area in Saco Bay
beyond which a person may have on a trawl more than 3 lobster
traps as 3 nautical miles from land, as measured by radar. Rules
adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as
defined in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375,
subchapter II-A.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve requires the Department of Marine Resources to
adopt a rule that establishes the boundary beyond which a person
may fish using a trawl that has more than 3 lobster traps as 3
nautical miles from land as measured by radar. Current rules
define the boundary as the 3 nautical miles line that appears on
navigational charts.
