| This bill establishes that the Workers' Compensation Board's |
| assessment cap will annually increase based on 2 factors: one, |
| the board's "All Other" budget will increase by an amount |
| equivalent to the inflation factor set by the Revenue Forecasting |
| Committee pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, |
| section 1710-G; and the board's "Personal Services" budget will |
| increase by an amount equal to increases in employee salaries and |
| benefits. Currently, there is no mechanism for the board's |
| assessment cap to change to take into account inflationary |
| increases or increases in employee salaries and benefits. |
