In selecting people for the | | working group, the department shall include: |

| | | A. A representative of the Maine Funeral Directors | | Association; |

| | | B. A representative of the Associated Independent Family | | Funeral Homes of Maine; |
|
| | | C. A representative of the Maine Old Cemetary Association; |
|
| | | D. A representative of the Memorial Society of Maine; |
|
| | | E. Members of the State Board of Funeral Service; and |
|
| | | F. Consumers; and be it further |
|
| | | Sec. 2. Review of laws. Resolved: That the working group established | | under section 1 shall review the laws pertaining to funeral | | homes, crematories and cemeteries in order to make | | recommendations on updating the laws to make them more reflective | | of the needs of Maine families; and be it further |

| | | Sec. 3. Recommendation. Resolved: That the working group established | | under section 1 shall make its recommendations to the Department | | of Economic and Community Development. The department may submit | | legislation by December 1, 2001 to the Second Regular Session of | | the 120th Legislature. |

| | | This resolve directs the Department of Economic and Community | | Development to create a working group to review the laws | | pertaining to funeral homes, crematories and cemeteries and their | | roles in meeting the needs of Maine families. |
