ADVISORY BOARD

§3360-N.__Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Advisory Board

established membership

1.__Establishment and membership.__There is established within the Department of the Attorney General the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Advisory Board, referred to in this chapter as the "board," established in section 12004-J, subsection 13.__The board consists of 9 people appointed by the Attorney General.__ Members must include the following:

A.__One physician licensed to practice medicine in the State;

B.__One member of the Maine State Board of Nursing;

C.__One sexual assault nurse examiner;

D.__One representative from a sexual assault center;

E.__One member of the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault;

F.__One survivor of sexual assault;

G.__One attorney from the Department of the Attorney General;

H.__One employee of the Maine State Police Crime Laboratory; and

I.__One member of the Maine Prosecutors Association.

2.__Terms of appointment.__The term of each member of the board is 3 years.__When a vacancy occurs prior to the expiration of a term, the appointment to fill that vacancy is for the balance of the unexpired term.

3.__Chair.__The member of the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault shall act as the chair of the board.

4.__Meetings.__The board may not meet more than once a month.

5.__Quorum.__Five members of the board constitute a quorum.
