| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows: |

| | Sec. 1. 10 MRSA §9022, sub-§3, as enacted by PL 1977, c. 550, §1, is | amended to read: |
|
| | 3. Mechanics. Licensed mechanics may install or service | manufactured housing and may install and service oil tanks used | to supply home heating oil to manufactured housing, as defined by | section 9002, subsection 7, paragraph A, and are exempt from any | other licensing requirements of any state or political | subdivisions, but must obtain any permits required. |

| | Sec. 2. 32 MRSA §2401-A, sub-§6, as amended by PL 1999, c. 386, Pt. J, | §13, is further amended to read: |
|
| | 6. Personal abode. Nothing in this chapter prevents a person | from making an oil or solid fuel burner installation in a single | family residence occupied or to be occupied by that person as | that person's bona fide personal abode, provided that the | installation conforms with board laws and rules. ; and |
|
| | Sec. 3. 32 MRSA §2401-A, sub-§7 is enacted to read: |
|
| | 7.__Manufactured housing mechanics.__Any mechanic duly | licensed under Title 10, chapter 951 insofar as the installation | and maintenance of oil tanks used to supply home heating oil to | manufactured housing, as defined by Title 10, section 9002, | subsection 7, paragraphs A and C, is concerned. |

| | This bill permits mechanics licensed by the Manufactured | Housing Board to install and maintain oil tanks to current | standards. |
