| | Emergency preamble. Whereas, Acts and resolves of the Legislature do | not become effective until 90 days after adjournment unless | enacted as emergencies; and |

| | Whereas, in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts create | an emergency within the meaning of the Constitution of Maine and | require the following legislation as immediately necessary for | the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; now, | therefore, be it |

| | Sec. 1. Resolve 1997, c. 117, §1, sub-§6, amended. Resolved: That Resolve | 1997, c. 117, §1, sub-§6, as amended by Resolve 2001, c. 63, §1, | is further amended to read: |

| | 6. Report. The commission shall submit an interim report, | together with any necessary implementing legislation, to the | First Regular Session of the 120th Legislature by December 15, | 2000 and a final report, together with any necessary legislation, | to the Second Regular Session of the 120th Legislature by | December 5, 2001 June 5, 2002. |

| | Sec. 2. Retroactivity. Resolved: That section 1 of this resolve | applies retroactively to December 5, 2001. |
|
| | Emergency clause. In view of the emergency cited in the preamble, | this resolve takes effect when approved. |
|
| | This resolve extends the reporting deadline for the final | report of the Maine Millennium Commission on Hunger and Food | Security by 6 months to June 5, 2002. |
