Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §1001, sub-§19 is enacted to read:

19.__Physical threats by students against education personnel.__ Beginning with the 2002-2003 school year, they shall adopt a policy requiring that a student who issues a threat of death or bodily harm against a teacher or staff person be removed from the classroom or school bus.__The policy must require the consent of the person threatened before the student is reinstated into the classroom or onto the school bus.
