Adult Education

New Initiative: Provides funding to create the Adult Education Outreach Grant Program to make competitive grants to local adult education programs that encourage students enrolled in those programs to continue their education beyond a high school diploma or GED by offering college preparatory courses in areas such as application completion assistance and study skills.

SUMMARY

This bill appropriates $200,000 in funding to the Department of Education, Adult Education to create the Adult Education Outreach Grant Program. The purpose of the program is to provide competitive grants to local adult education programs that encourage their students to continue their education beyond the high school level.
