Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §6208-B is enacted to read:

§6208-B.__Approval by joint standing committee of Legislature

having jurisdiction over conservation matters

Approval by the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over conservation matters is required for an acquisition by the board of land with an appraised value greater than $250,000.__The board shall notify the committee in writing prior to such an acquisition.__The committee shall hold a public hearing on the proposed acquisition.

SUMMARY

This bill requires approval by the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over conservation matters for an acquisition by the Land for Maine's Future Board of land with an appraised value greater than $250,000.
