Sec. 1. Registry for direct care workers working with persons with mental retardation.
Resolved: That by January 1, 2004 the Department of Behavioral
and Developmental Services shall establish a registry for
direct care workers working with persons with mental
retardation. The registry must operate in cooperation with
the Maine Registry of Certified Nursing Assistants, as
appropriate to the new registry; must require criminal history
record information; and must contain eligibility standards for
listing in good standing and for removal from good standing.
Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical
rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve directs the Department of Behavioral and
Developmental Services to establish by January 1, 2004 a
registry for direct care workers working with persons with
mental retardation. Rules adopted pursuant to this resolve
are routine technical rules.
