SUBCHAPTER 1

GENERAL PROVISIONS

§8201. Definitions

As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following meanings.

1.__Authority.__"Authority" means the Calais to Eastport Rail Authority.

2.__Government agency.__"Government agency" includes any department, agency, commission, bureau, authority, instrumentality and political subdivision of:

A.__The Federal Government;

B.__The State;

C.__Any other state; and

D.__The Dominion of Canada and any of its provinces.

3.__Railroad line; lines.__"Railroad line" or "lines" means the right-of-way, track, track appurtenances, ties, bridges, station houses and other appurtenant structures.

§8202. Initiation and establishment of freight rail service

1.__Establishment of service.__The authority shall take all actions that are reasonably necessary to establish, repair, upgrade and maintain a railroad line between Calais and Eastport, in Washington County, and to initiate, establish or promote freight rail service between Calais and Eastport.__ These actions
